The pigeon family can be divided into two parts according to their diet and that will the seed eating pigeons and the fruit eating pigeons. This helps to differentiate between their digestive qualities as well as it shows that the seed eating pigeons have thick muscular walls and the fruit eating ones have a thin stomach wall.
Also pigeons that eat fruits have small intestines while those who don't have a longer intestine. The fruit eating pigeons are able to cling to branches on trees and are also able to hang upside down from them. The hunt for insects and worms is also divided along different species of pigeons. Those that tend to hunt insects and worms are the quail dove and the ground doves. These hang around these thongs and act as predators to fulfil their stomach and they are not very well accustomed to eating fruits or seeds to consolidate their needs.
The other species that are called the Atoll fruit dove is fond of insects and reptiles and hawks around them and preys on them when it gets the chance. Other insects that are also preferred by some other species are snails, moths, caterpillars, and they usually know where to find them.
