Types of pigeon
Pigeons are found in are large variety of shapes and sizes and they are over two hundred kinds of pigeons all over the world. The come in different colours as well and that is one way through which they can be differentiated. Some of the examples for pigeons are anterwerp, archangel, barb, carneau, carrier etc. Anterwerp are short and medium sized in their face structure and are also sometimes long.
 

This depends according to the size of the head from where the eye of the pigeon is positioned.Other characteristics of the pigeon are that it has a broad breast breasted, and deep chest including a long straight back and also some shoulders. The wide shoulders have tail feathers that also reach the ground level. Its flight feather is short and for comfortable flying it folds itself on the tail so that it does not come in contact during flight. These feathers are available in different colours and these pigeons as well come in different colours sometimes with red eyes with a black short beak with crimson feet. The Archangel is a small pigeon in size and is originally thought to be from Russia while some contradict it and say it's from Asia. This pigeon has very strong senses and though it may be small in size but is very alert

 

and it also comes in many coloured varieties. It has a beautiful slender neck and body. The barb pigeon is also a very ancient breed and is mostly of homing pigeons. It has its origins from Europe and England. This is a medium sized bird and its physique is short and it has a curved beak that is thick with a long body and a precise neck to go with it.
